Johanna has always been a visionary. She was born into a family of artists and knows no other way to Live. “To create is to live" might be her motto. As a child, she sat by her mother, a well known watercolorist, and painted magical scenes from her vivid imagination as her mother painted realistically from nature.

She studied art at California State University both at San Jose and Long Beach and has shown her art internationally since 1978. Her creations include watercolors, handpainted clothing, photography, a book on angels, and now her internationally collected Lemurian wands.

She has two daughters, Tara and Deirdre; each are married and living in Washington state. They are both artists. Tara has two children, Alexandria and Austin, respectively a muscian and an artist. Deirdre has one young daughter Ava age 5, also showing signs of being an artist and a son named Ivan, 2 years old.

Johanna embarked on her spiritual path in 1970, when the "light" hit her and she stayed in a state of grace for two weeks. .Since then she has meditated daily, studied many spiritual paths, and is now a Reiki Master Teacher. In 1987 she started painting angels. They literally uprooted her from her 24 year marriage and she began to travel, caretaking the elderly along the way in return for room and board and a place to paint. Since then she has painted over 44 angel, 12 of which are included in her book The Angels of the Rays. She is presently working on the next book (to include all 44 angels) and a website, in conjunction with her daughter.

Today Johanna divides her time between Baja California in winter/spring/fall and spends summers in the mountains of northeastern New Mexico. She resides and travels with her husband Coyote Dan, Lilly the Pugwawa puppy, Lazarus and Elmo the traveling cat circus. She and Coyote Dan live an alternative life style, treading lightly on the land, following the principles of right livelihood, and knowing miracles are natural.

Johanna has not shown in galleries since 1988. Instead she sells her work through fine metaphysical stores, mineral stores, the Tucson Gem Show and the New Age Trade Show in Denver.
