Mexicali - The State Government, with
support from the federal government, made a major investment
to modernize the port of San Felipe and extend the road
to Bahia de los Angeles, said the Governor José
Guadalupe Osuna Millán .
On
a tour of work by Puertecitos and San Felipe, the state
governor reviewed the progress in the modernization
of the Gulf of California highway that leads to Puertecitos
which to date have invested 700 million pesos, and this
year is expected to invest 100 million more.
Accompanied by Secretary of State Tourism Juan Tintos
Funcke, the governor met with staff of the Delegation
Puertecitos, with whom he pledged to build a medical
clinic for which they gave instructions to the Ministry
of Health.
He also annouced that through the Program of Urban
and Ecological Restructuring of the State, work on the
modernization of infrastructure to Bahia de los Angeles
will continue, keeping an eye on not causing harm to
nature, which is a major attraction in the area.
Subsequently, the Governor of the State made a tour
of the waterfront in San Felipe where he greeted vacationers
and examined work already done in the area.
In addition, a study was launched by the FONATUR with
a view to strengthen the Partial Plan for the Development
of San Felipe, which will include entry and the boardwalk,
and for which resources of 10 million pesos for modernization
have already been collected.
