Baja
California Secretary of Tourism Launches Official Information
& Assistance Hotline
"078"
Offers Tourist Information and Assistance Services 24/7
With the goal
of providing tourism information and assistance to visitors
from the United States and Mexico, the State of Baja California Secretary of Tourism’s
office has put into operation the 078 Hotline.
This hotline is now in
service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. According to Alejandro
Moreno Medina, Secretary of Tourism for the State of Baja California, visitors will have access to information by dialing
078 from any phone within the State. He also stated that the
personnel answering calls will be bilingual (English/Spanish)
and skilled in providing any tourism-related information and
assistance.
The Human Contact Center, an organization based in Tijuana, Mexico, has been selected to provide services for the hotline.
The Contact Center’s 078 hotline system will be accessible 24 hours a day, to provide bilingual
support, transfer emergency calls, and formulate toll-free numbers
to generate statistical research online.
Moreno
Medina said that the cost of this service will be covered by
the fideicomisos publicos de promocion turistica (tourism funds) from each of the five Baja California municipalities. Each of these organizations will also
be responsible for training the 078 telephone operators year-round.
In conclusion,
Moreno Medina reiterated that this hotline is designed to support
Baja California visitors in need of tourism information and assistance,
or who may have an emergency while visiting Baja California.
