La Voz, January 21, 2015

San Felipe is ready to host the Baja 250 despite the precautionary closure of the beaches here by the health authorities due to the Red Tide contamination.

Christian Ibarra Sicairos, director of the Mexicali Committee of Tourism and Conventions (COTUCO), is in close coordination with federal and state authorities to insure that restrictions on the consumption of certain foods such as clams and sardines, are complied with.

The mayor of San Felipe, Jaime Diaz Ochoa, said it's important not to panic in response to the health restrictions, seeing as they are temporary measured occasioned by a natural; phenomenon, an accumulation of certain toxic marine flora.

Ibarra Sicairos said that the health-related information we have implies no risk to visitors or swimmers, so everyone is invited to enjoy the perfect climate here this weekend.
